“Do women need to be cows in order to feel safe in this country?”
Transgender people in India regularly come up against intense prejudice, including both verbal and physical threats. The 'Transgender Modelling Agency' was an effort to empower these lovely human souls and give them an alternative livelihood. Sujatro was associated with 'Mitr Trust' during this time period.
Large portions of the islands in the delta regions of Sundarbans in West Bengal have sunk under water. Ghoramara & Sagardwip – two heavily inhabited islands– live under the threat of of being swallowed by the effects of climate change have not only resulted in these islands becoming categorised as "vanishing islands".
While staying in a Swedish art residency Sujatro made a group of friends who spoke a language which he couldn't, but they connected through music and culture. This is a series of portraits of those people who Sujatro met in the refugee camp 'Mörbylånga'.

Sujatro landed up in Nepal and started volunteering for the World Food Programme (United Nations) and the Nepal Army during the earthquake. Here are some of the pictures from Nepal.
While growing up in Calcutta, in his early adulthood Sujatro started finding himself being 'lonely' in the 'City of Joy'. A suffering economy, Inadequate opportunities and political turbulence in the city forced many bright and young minds left the city looking for a 'better future'.
